Matt and I have now finished our 2.5 month road trip and I would give anything to go back and relive it again, and again, and again. We bought a van, drove 32,516 km through 32 US states and 5 Canadian provinces, with countless stops to breathe in the salty sea breeze or take in the breathtaking mountain views, hours after hours of singalongs to our never-ending playlist with feet on the dashboard and windows wound down, daily sunsets over glasses of wine and early morning wake-up calls to watch the sunrise. I’ve recently dowloaded our thousands of photos and I’ll be sharing them here, bit by bit. Please bear with me, there is so much to share!
To start, our first US destination: Yellowstone. I have never seen a more diverse landscape, ever. From magnificent canyons and dense forests to inviting hot springs and hyperactive geysers that make you feel like you’re on the moon it’s so bare… and not to mention the wildlife. Yellowstone pretty much has it all.
Two quick tips:
- We bought the America the Beautiful annual pass at Yellowstone which saved us so much money on our the whole trip. The pass is $80 and if you’re planning on visiting at least 4 National Parks, it’s worth it, considering it can cost you anywhere from $25-$30 a visit depending on the park. Just sayin’.
- If you’re travelling to Yellowstone from the north, I highly recommend driving along the Beartooth Highway, a National Scenic Byways All-American Road through Montana and Wyoming and leads directly into Yellowstone at the northeast entrance. It’s 68 miles and is such a beautiful, daring drive.
Here’s a few snaps from our 3 day visit.
